Marketing and promotions are very important aspects of student media. This year Kelsey Hagelberg, the marketing director, is taking these areas to new levels. Kelsey is a senior from Minburn, Iowa majoring in integrated marketing communication with a minor in marketing. As the marketing director, Kelsey is in charge of all student media: KSTM, The Simpsonian, and ID Magazine.
Some of the responsibilities that Kelsey is in charge of includes managing the advertising and promotions staff. This staff produces weekly promotions in the Simpsonian such as deals from area businesses and the weekly suduko project. Kelsey also organizes promotional events for medias such as Strike a Pose for ID magazine. Kelsey works with a graphic designer to create ads for ID magazine and the Simpsonian. She is working hard to create different ways to promote each media.
Big events that Kelsey has planned this semester is the ID Magazine Launch Party that will take place during dead week. This event will be a red carpet theme with a photo shoot available. She is also working with KSTM station manager to get the radio better known on campus.
