Simpson College, A private, nationally recognized college grounded in the liberal arts tradition and affiliated with the United Methodist Church invites nominates and applications for the position of assistant or associate professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice. This is a tenure track position. Teaching responsibilities include core courses in the undergraduate criminal justice major and the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice degree program. The successful applicant will also develop courses in their area of expertise.

The position begins August 20, 2013 and requires a PhD. Applicants with professional experience in the Criminal Justice field will be given preference. Candidates for the position should demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and a willingness to engage students in scholarship. Faculty members at Simpson College are expected to participate in faculty governance, student advising, new student recruitment and in other ways that support the mission of the college.
