Enactus (formerly SIFE), a student organization focused on service, leadership and entrepreneurship, won the Outstanding Organization Award at a ceremony held on Tuesday, April 9th in Hubbell Hall in the Kent Campus Center.
Over the course of the 2012-2013 academic year, Enactus has engaged in numerous service activities including canned food drives, sponsoring the Mr. Simpson contest with proceeds to benefit Mary’s Meals and more. The group has also been working with Burlap and Roses on The Square in developing a new brand and marketing plan thanks to grants from Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart.
In mid-April the group traveled to Chicago to participate in the Enactus regional competition. The group made a presentation to a panel of business industry judges winning First Runner-Up in the region.
Professor Marilyn Mueller, the group’s advisor from the Department of Business Administration and Economics, is thrilled that the students have been recognized for their hard work this year and is excited to take them to the competition in Chicago.
