Just three months after receiving her diploma, Simpson graduate Alyssa Frank is making an impact in the construction world. She began her job as Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Des Moines based Neumann Brothers in May and has taken great strides in developing their marketing and communications strategies. We had a chance to sit down with Alyssa in the Neumann Brothers headquarters in downtown Des Moines to learn more about her work and her continuing Simpson Success Story.
If you’ve seen recent ads in the Des Moines Register and the Iowa Magazine, it was Alyssa’s hand in the making. If you have seen Neumann Brothers videos on YouTube, that was Alyssa’s work. Their recently launched Facebook page is a treasure trove of photos and video of older projects for those interested in the history of the capitol city.
Alyssa’s work encompasses this social media marketing and traditional print media advertising as well as business-to-business marketing in the development of RFP materials. She is also working in the area of corporate community outreach and engagement.
Alyssa credits her professional success to her work with the student organization, Enactus (formerly SIFE), where she led the marketing team, and to two courses in particular: Advertising and Newswriting/Reporting. These two courses taught her technical skills needed to succeed in the business.
We hope we’ll see Alyssa back on campus in January when the official opening of the new Cowles/Carse recreation center (construction by Neumann Brothers) will be held!
