Finals week – the most dreaded week for all college students. This is the time of year thousands of students around the states are finding ways to stay awake and alive during this week of hell. Here are five ways to help you stay afloat next week:
1. Drink coffee
According to the USDA, one 8 oz. cup of coffee has 95 mg of caffeine; it’s the perfect amount to get you through a few finals!
2. Eat Carbs to keep your energy for late-night study sessions
Carbs are a known source of energy to provide your body with nutrients and fiber to keep you fueled for hours.
3. Sleep (if you have time)
The average college student needs eight hours of sleep per night (according to a Stanford University study). Of course, this is difficult for students, although any little nap you can get during the day counts.
4. Take a break
Too much work in a short amount of time can lead to increased stress which means less success on your exams. Make sure you take a 10 minute break every hour or two and do something you enjoy. For some people this could be working out, for others, it could be just relaxing for a while.
5. Give up!
This is the part of the semester when you have been working so hard to get that A. At some point, you need to realize you have done all you can and trust your hard work will pay off.
