Admitted Transfer Student Checklist

Congratulations again on your admission! Now that you have been accepted to Simpson it is time to take the next steps.  Following the steps below will ensure your first year at Simpson will be a success!

 

  • VISIT! Whether it is your first time on campus or a return visit, there is absolutely no better way to experience Simpson for yourself and confirm it is the right fit for you!
  • Soon after January 1st, file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Be sure to list Simpson College with our code 0001887.
  • Financial assistance awards will be mailed a few weeks after your acceptance if we have a FAFSA on file.  The award will include all Simpson, state and federal financial assistance for which you are eligible.
  • Submit your $200 ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT.  This will secure your enrollment to Simpson College.  The enrollment deposit is refundable until May 1.
  • Watch the mail for your username and password for SC CONNECT.  This secure online access provides you information about orientation and registration as well as many helpful links and resources to help you prepare for your Simpson Experience!
  • Log into your SC CONNECT complete the housing contract and roommate questionnaire if you plan to live on campus.
  • Upon completion of your final semester, send your official COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT.
  • Send official AP scores and/or CLEP results to the Simpson College Office of Admissions.
  • Schedule your individual REGISTRATION appointment by calling 515-961-1660 or email debra.lord@simpson.edu.
  • Check your mail for HOUSING and ROOMMATE assignments.
  • Make sure Simpson has a copy of your HEALTH FORM on file.  This form can be found in your SC Connect account.
  • GET YOUR SIMPSON GEAR!  The college bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5p.m.  Questions about books?  Call 515-961-1635.
