In the heart of Simpson College’s campus lies a room that comes alive each evening with the excitement and dedication of students prepared to call alumni, parents and friends across the nation. Students are calling to share Simpson news and to ask them for support of The Simpson Fund. The goal is to create a culture of giving so Simpson can continue to thrive as a premiere educational liberal arts institution.
Students call Sunday-Thursday evenings during the fall and spring semesters in Hillman Hall. Between the fall and spring semesters of the 2012 – 2013 fiscal year, student callers raised $156,886.00
“It’s important to raise money for The Simpson Fund,” said Ali Austin, Student Manger of Phonathon. “The money we raise gives students the opportunity to attend Simpson at an affordable cost without sacrificing a quality education.”
More than just raising money, Phonathon callers have made it their mission to increase Annual Giving participation among the people they call, while also establishing ties with those who are not able to come back to campus.
“It’s nice to talk with donors and alumni and hear that there are people out there who really do care about this place,” said Mark Lahart, Senior.
