As College Librarian, my goal each day is to connect students and faculty with the information resources and services they require to be successful in their learning and research endeavors. I work closely with the library team and college faculty to make this happen. Students are a part of our team — we offer 40 work-study positions throughout the library.
As College Archivist, I preserve documentation and memorabilia from all decades of the college. Other student library opportunities include undergraduate assistant positions in the archives, media services, social media/outreach and technical services. Several of our student employees have gone on to various graduate programs. Take a look at the Simpson Experience Walkway in the Kent Campus Center to see where Simpson has been and where we are going.
With a deep interest in education and community service, I have served as President of the Iowa Library Association and the Indianola Board of Education. I am currently on the Indianola Park & Recreation Commission, Moderator of Deacons at Trinity Presbyterian Church, interview facilitator for WeLIFT Job Search Center and with the Warren County Philanthropic Partnership.
I enjoy spending time with my daughters, traveling, and, of course, reading.
