I arrived at Simpson College in 2013, and I am the Director of Simpson Writing Across the Curriculum. Prior to that, I was the Assistant Director of First-year Composition at the University of Georgia. I was responsible for the daily operation of the UGA Writing Center where I worked closely with faculty and first-year through Ph. D. students.

At Simpson, I helped establish the Simpson Writing Center, and now I am part of group working to develop the Center for Academic Resources–I call it CARs. This project is very important to me because it situates academic support professionals, tutors, and consultants in the center of the library’s first level–where students instinctively gravitate for solitary study time and group work.

I wish I had exotic hobbies like skydiving or collecting tattoos, but I have always enjoyed reading. My favorite pastime, now that I live in Iowa, is to  knit or crochet while I wait for the snow.

My husband and I live in our new house, just two blocks from campus. Our three feline companions are Funny Bones, Targa, and the great Aristotle.
