Jin Young (Jean) Park joined at Simpson College in 2002.  She teaches applied piano and accompanies students, choir groups, as well as opera programs.  Jean has served as the rehearsal pianist for numerous major opera works, including Albert Herring, The Magic Flute, The Crucible, The Consul, and Falstaff.  She is also the organist at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola.

The teachers who inspired her in performing and teaching are Amanda Lethco, Jane Magrath, Edward Gates, Andrew Cooperstock, Jung-Gyu Kim, and Reid Alexander. Also, she has worked with Leon Fleisher, Misha Dichter, Barry Douglas for piano master classes, and Marilyn Horne for voice master classes.  Dr. Park presents solo recitals annually and has given number of duo piano programs as well as concerto performances with OU Symphony orchestra, Forth Smith Youth Symphony, and Oskaloosa Symphony orchestra.
