Hello! I’m Dr. Paul V. Craven, head of the Computer Science Department. My main areas of academic interest are:

  • Robotics
  • Student video game development
  • Web development
  • Project management
  • Software security
  • Reliability
  • Distributed systems

I also have a strong interest in weather and almost any kind of machine that flies.

I worked in software development from 1991 until 2006, starting as an intern in Des Moines working on small projects while I studied at Simpson. Eventually I worked my way up to management of large multi-million dollar projects. I first started teaching for Simpson’s evening program in 1996, and later was hired on full time in 2006 after ‘retiring’ out of corporate life.
