Dr. Robert DeGraaff joined the Simpson College faculty in August 2013 as an Assistant Professor of Management.
Bob received his PhD and MBA degrees from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has a BS from Northwestern University, and has held senior management positions at a not-for-profit and a for-profit hospital. He has taught the introduction to the American health care system course; health industry courses focusing on health services management, health policy, health economics, and health care finance; as well as general management courses.
Bob recently completed a project working with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago on academic health system strategy and structure.
In a few months, Dr. DeGraaff will be leading a May Term course titled “What Does Health Reform Mean to You, Your Family, Small Businesses, Large Companies, and Health Industry Organizations?”
Bob and his wife Lisa and I have one son, Robert, who is a senior at the College of William & Mary in Virginia.
