2014-2015 is my eighth year at Theatre Simpson.  In addition to teaching duties, this year I have designed the lighting for our production of Carousel, and the scenery for Pericles.

Recent design credits include Always, Patsy Cline; The 39 Steps,  and The Quiet Man (Lighting Design) for the Winterset Stage and Lysistrata Jones (Lighting Design) and The Women of Lockerbie (Scenic Design) for Theatre Simpson.  Other Theatre Simpson credits include Peer Gynt (Technical Direction and Lighting Design); The Glass Menagerie and Betrayal (Scenic Designs) and Lighting Designs for The Winter’s Tale, The Learned Ladies, Henry V, A year with Frog and  Toad, Push Up, and Pride and Predjudice.  Lighting Designs for Opera at Simpson have included Cendrillion, Dido and Aneas, I pagliacci, The Mikado, and The Magic Flute.

During the summer months I act as liaison to Des Moines Metro Opera while they are in residence at Blank Performing Arts Center.  I have also had the opportunity to participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, as a workshop presenter and adjudicator of production load ins/load outs.

Prior to working with Simpson, I designed lighting for Stage West Theater productions The Underpants and I am My Own Wife.  Designs for Lyric Opera of Kansas City include Madama Butterfly, Tosca, The Ballad of Baby Doe, Vanessa, La Boheme, L’italiana in Alger and The Barber of Sevile,  among others.

I have a B.A. from Dickinson Stage college, and graduate work at University of Nebraska.
