Steven Kennedy received his Master of Music degree from Belmont University (Nashville, TN) and his Bachelor of Music degree from Simpson College (Indianola, IA); both in classical guitar performance. He has performed in master classes for notable guitarists Jason Vieaux, Jerome Ducharme, and Petar Jankovic, and has observed classes given by Christopher Parkening and Jorge Caballero. In addition to his experience with classical music, Steven is also affluent in various commercial music genres including rock, metal, jazz, and blues. He has been an active musician in central Iowa for the last decade, both teaching and performing with the guitar. As a composer, he has written numerous rock tunes, as well as original music programs for his church in Des Moines. In Nashville, Steven served as the graduate assistant in the Belmont University Guitar Ensemble, and was an active classical, rock, and church guitarist.
Steven is a member of the GFA, and currently serves as the vice president of the Heart of Iowa Classical Guitar Society.
