Research in the Biology Department
The diverse faculty in the biology department are very active in research projects with students. You may examine each faculty member’s personal web pages for more details on their research interests.
At the end of every semester we have a research symposium where students present results of their research.
Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Science Division’s Undergraduate Research Symposium was begun in 2001, and is now organized at the end of every fall and spring semesters. At the Spring, 2002 symposium the event was renamed the Joe Moody Research Symposium in honor of a professor who retired that semester and who for decades has been a great supporter of the science division. The Joe Moody research award and grant will be available to students in the near future.
The research symposium is a way for students to present the results of their work in either a 15 minute oral presentation or a poster presentation. Also listed in the program are projects that are still in progress or projects without a presentation. The list of presentations from science division students reveals the diversity of research being conducted by students at Simpson College.
