Simpson students earning their degree in integrated marketing communication have accomplished the enviable task of gathering and analyzing research and packaging the information into a medium the audience wishes to receive it. Our students have mastered the ability to interpret research and successfully communicate it to key audiences. And they understand the historical, legal and ethical basis of a free and responsible system of communication, all important elements to appreciating the role communication has in our society today.

Integrated Marketing Communication Major—Management Concentration

Students will complete ten courses plus an internship as follows: Required:

  • Comm 222: Introduction to Integrated Marketing Communication
  • Magt 234: Marketing
  • Acct 201 : Introductory Accounting
  • Comm 301: Media Law & Ethics
  • Comm 347: Writing for Integrated Marketing Communication
  • Comm 355: Research in Communication & Media Studies
  • Comm 360: Seminar in Integrated Marketing Communication
  • Comm 155: Communication & Media Studies Practicum*
  • Comm 319: Internship*

Integrated Marketing Communication Major - Creative Concentration

*Students in the Continuing & Graduate program may petition to waive these requirements if their existing professional positions provide them, in the department’s judgment, with adequate professional training.
