Online Course Engagement Policy

  • All students should log into their online/blended course by the date the course is scheduled to begin.  If you do not engage* in the course in any fashion within the first week, you will be contacted by Simpson staff to confirm that you wish to remain in or drop this course.
  • Student who drop their course during add/drop period will receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be issued after add/drop period (typically five business days, or the first week of the term/semester).

*Engagement is defined as reading and responding to material posted by the instructor, completing and/or submitting assignments, taking quizzes, participating in forums, engaging with other students in the courses on group activities and similar activities.


If you need to completely withdraw from all courses, you will need to speak directly to the business office at 515-961-1655. If you are receiving financial aid, you will need to speak with the financial aid office at 515-961-1630 regarding any changes to your course schedule.
