Bridgestone Partnership

Simpson College is proud to partner with Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations of Des Moines. The purpose of this partnership is to help Bridgestone teammates save time and money while working to complete a degree or certificate in business management. This unique and flexible program is offered exclusively for teammates of Bridgestone.

As a Bridgestone teammate, you can take courses to complete a degree, enter or advance into management, develop new skills and increase knowledge in your current position, or for your own personal growth and continued learning.

Benefits of the Bridgestone Partnership
The two most valuable benefits of the Simpson Bridgestone Partnership are saving time and money.

How does the Simpson Bridgestone Partnership save money?
Eligible teammates save money by using Bridgestone’s tuition reimbursement benefit which provides $5,250 toward the cost of education per teammate, per year. In addition, eligible teammates may also use funds from the Institute of Career Development.

How does the Simpson Bridgestone Partnership save time?
Eligible teammates can reduce the number of courses required to complete a degree by taking advantage of Simpson’s Life Experience Portfolio (LEP) program. The LEP allows students to translate prior learning and work experience into college credit. Select BAAGU credits (from Bridgestone’s internal corporate training) may also be considered for credit as part of the LEP.

Note: Students may earn up to 32 non-traditional credits (BAAGU, Life Experience, vocational, technical). These credits must be applied within the first 64 credits toward graduation.

What are some of the other benefits?

  • Simpson provides a personal advisor to assist you in the application process, scheduling courses, and degree planning.
  • A deferred payment plan option allows you a 45-day interest free grace period after the completion of each course. This allows time for you to be reimbursed from Bridgestone before tuition payment is required.
  • As a Simpson student, you have access to free wireless internet service at any Simpson campus, a Simpson email account, and 25GB of storage space.
  • If you have previous college experience, Simpson will accept your transfer credits from an accredited institution.
