Criteria for Awarding Financial Assistance

Simpson College strives to meet a large percentage of a student’s financial need with gift assistance making a Simpson College education affordable.  The College utilizes an awarding matrix which looks at each student’s financial need and their academic profile to determine the amount of gift assistance we will award.

We assemble our financial assistance package with scholarship and grant assistance first then we add federal loans for which a student is eligible.  All federal and state aid is awarded according to federal and state guidelines and eligibility criteria.  Some campus based federal funds, such as Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) and federal work study are awarded until funds are depleted, so it is important to file the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1.
