With the Employee Assistance Program, you have the opportunity to discuss your concerns in a relaxed and confidential atmosphere. A professionally trained counselor will help guide you toward a better understanding of your problem, what caused it, and approaches to a solution. Issues typically addressed include the following:
Is the service confidential?
Yes, when you seek out assistance from EAP on your own, no one will know. The services are strictly confidential.
What if my supervisor initiates my appointment?
Only you and your supervisor will know you are using the service. The College will be only informed as to whether you attended your appointment, if a referral was made and if you followed through with that referral. No other information will be released without your written permission.
Does the service cost anything?
No. As a part of the Simpson Wellness program, six visits are provided free of charge to all employees who are benefit eligible and their dependents. If you and your counselor decide further assistance is needed, we will help you get in touch with another professional who best suits your individual needs. If referred, you will be responsible for any costs not covered by insurance.
