Avery O. Craven

Avery O. Craven (1885-1980) was a well-known American historian who specialized in mid-nineteenth century American history, particularly in the Antebellum South. The Craven Collection includes his personal library of over 2,000 volumes, notes, manuscripts, correspondence with historian Frederick Jackson Turner and others, and memorabilia.
