Remembering President John F Kennedy
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
November 22, 1963 -- it has been fifty years since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dealy Plaza in Dallas, Texas. On this day, by 12:30, he’d already given speeches outside the hotel and at Love Field in Fort Worth. As the motorcade continued down the Dallas streets it passed the Texas School Book Depository, gunfire rang out, hitting the President in the neck, head and chest. He was pronounced dead at 1:00pm.
Dunn Library at Simpson College has a display featuring JFK’s life, presidency, and passing. This selection of books, newspapers, videos and other resources are some of the Kennedy items available at Dunn Library. Books on the counter display may be checked out.
