The Simpson College Department of Music offers five festivals during the school year and two summer music camps for school-age students.  Each festival and camp offers a different experience to the young musician.

Summer Camps

Orpheus Summer Music Camp  takes place July 14-21.  Orpheus is an exciting music camp  for high school musicians which includes classes in music theory, music history, and daily individual lessons in up to two applied areas. The camp also includes choral ensemble experiences, instrumental chamber ensembles and workshop training for operetta and musical theater. The staff is made up of the outstanding Simpson College music faculty. Scholarships are available. Call: (515) 961-1637 for application and scholarship information beginning March 1st. Upcoming Festivals

Simpson College Fall Honor Choir - Tuesday, October 15, 2013
A day dedicated to the high school singer.  This festival offers opportunities for singers to make music under the direction of Dr. Timothy A. McMillin and to hear a solo song recital of current students and faculty at Simpson College. The day ends with a public performance featuring ensembles from Simpson College as well as the Simpson College Honor Choir performers.
