Simpson’s 10th Annual High School Honor Choir was Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
Thanks to all who attended to make this a spectacular event!
WHO ATTENDS: Up to 3 quartets of gifted choral artists from each participating high school may attend.
PURPOSE: Just two weeks before All-State auditions, the Simpson College Honor Choir serves many fantastic purposes including a chance to rehearse and perform at least two (and sometimes three) of the year’s All-State pieces in a performance setting prior to the auditions. Honor Choir participants will work during the day with Dr. Timothy A. McMillin, Simpson’s Director of Choral Activities, and Professor Bernard McDonald, Simpson’s Chair of Opera Studies.
The Simpson College Honor Choir is designed as a non-competitive environment where exceptional students from high school programs have the opportunity to spend a day rehearsing and performing high quality choral music. A day such as this serves as an opportunity for students to energize, discover, and reaffirm their interest and passion in singing.
COST: $10 per participant plus meals for the day, which are available on campus or at a variety of locations in Indianola.
CONCERT ATTIRE: Attire for the evening concert is the student’s regular high school performance attire – robes are preferred if this is an option.
