Acis and Galatea, by G.F. Handel

Simpson College Opera is staging its first ever performance of a Handel opera this season: Acis and Galatea. The effervescent English opera utilizes beautiful, elaborate choruses to guide the audience through a tale based on Greek mythology. The opera will be performed in English by a wonderfully talented student cast, with chorus and orchestra. Music direction by Bernard McDonald, stage direction and scenic design by Timothy Nelson, and lighting design by Kel Millionie.
Performance times: Friday, October 27th, 7:30pm; Saturday, October 28th, 7:30pm; Sunday, October 29th, 2:00pm.
Location: Opera performances are at the Pote Theater in the Blank Performing Arts Center at Simpson College, 513 North D. Street, Indianola, IA. Parking is available at the Center, on surrounding streets, and at a campus lot at the intersection of West Clinton Street and North C Street.
Note: Running time is TBA. All tickets are $18, and seating is general admission.
Tickets will be available through this page beginning on Monday, October 2nd. Tickets are also available at the door for all performances, beginning 30 minutes prior to the performance.
