His Legacy Continues: Walt Research Library and Simpson Archives Opens

The Joseph W. Walt Research Library features the books he used to research Liechtenstein as well as posters about that country that once hung in his house. Walt became enchanted with the country as a young stamp collector and visited there almost every year. The Carver ceremony is one of the most important events held during the academic year. It honors the memory and legacy of George Washington Carver, who began his collegiate career at Simpson College after being refused admittance to another school because of his race.
