This Wednesday: Simpson to Host Discussion on Issues Affecting Veterans

The discussion will feature Delbert Spurlock, former assistant secretary of the Army under the Reagan Administration. He will show a new short film and engage members of the Simpson community on several topics, including reinvigorating the concept of the “citizen-soldier” and how best to return veterans to civilian life. Andrea Casaretto Awarded Gilman Scholarship to Study in Morocco

“In many ways Andrea is a TRIO poster child,” said Stephanie Neve, retention coordinator in Student Support Services. “TRIO exists for the purpose of helping students like Andrea access and successfully complete a college education. As her TRIO advisor, I feel incredibly privileged that I have been given the opportunity to participate in her educational and life journey with her. Student Support Services Receives $1.15 Million Grant

SSS grant competitions occur every five years and in each cycle of funding, the U.S. Department of Education receives more applications than it can fund, and the competition is fierce. This year, Simpson was one of 968 programs, both two and four year higher education institutions, to be funded out of 1,600 applications. More…
