Farnham to Feature Work of Rebecca Hackemann

The 2013-14 season at Farnham Galleries on the Simpson College campus will begin with an exciting exhibit featuring the work of Rebecca Hackemann.

Hackemann is a British/German conceptual artist who works in media that are concerned with perception and space. Her art challenges existing media categories, such as the flat photographic image on the wall. Her interest in philosophy and theory have always influenced the themes that are contained within her work, which are mostly concerned with idea of perception, representation and the intersection between language and image.

The exhibit begins on Aug. 27 and continues through Sept. 26 in Farnham Galleries, located on the third floor of Mary Berry Hall on the Simpson College campus in Indianola.

A reception for the artist will be held between 5-6 p.m. on Sept. 26 in the gallery.
