An exhibit featuring the soft sculptures of Mary Logue is on display through March 22 at Farnham Galleries on the Simpson College campus.
Logue works with hooked rugs, including flowers, plants, mountains, prairies and bluffs.
“I try to capture the joy, the color, the movement, the energy that I see and feel in the universe around us,” she said. “I’m very interested in natural patters: the swirl of a galaxy or a whirlpool, the crosshatching of tree bark, the unfurling of leaves on a branch, the peppering of flowers in a field.”
A reception for Logue will be held between 5-6 p.m. March 21 in the galleries, located in Mary Berry Hall on the Simpson campus.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with additional hours available upon request. Call 515-961-1486 for more information, or visit the Farnham Galleries website.
