A professor of art at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Masters works with design, drawing and illustration. He received his master’s degree from the University of Iowa.
Of the exhibit, he says, “These images attempt to challenge the viewer’s perception of reality by exploiting their underlying abstract qualities. The idea that such a striking, literal interpretation of a subject could possess such characteristics might suggest a contradiction of shorts, but exploring this tension serves only to underscore my interest in creating what might be considered as rendered enigmas.”
A reception for Masters will be held between 5-6 p.m. Feb. 7 in Farnham Galleries.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, with additional hours available upon request. Farnham Galleries are located in Mary Berry Hall on the Simpson College campus. For more information, go to www.simpson.edu/art/gallery or call 515-961-1486.
