Students, employers embrace Fair
One of the many ways Simpson sets itself apart is by preparing students for future careers.
Consider the 2012 Fall Futures Fair, sponsored by Career Services and attended by an estimated 250 students and 46 organizations.
This year’s event, the second of its kind, was held on Oct. 31 in the Principal Financial Group Black Box Theatre in the Kent Campus Center. The Fair was initiated in the fall of 2011 to address employer and student needs.
At this event, students are able to gather information about volunteer, internship and graduate school opportunities. In what could be a sign of an improved jobs market, several companies arrived at the fair to recruit students for full-time positions.
“The fair is a great place for all students to start their search and obtain more information as they prepare for life after graduation,” said Jennifer del Pino, director of Career Services. “It’s never too early to make those connections and build resumes!”
