Good news: Simpson students score big in college media competition

Here’s a scoop: Current and former Simpson College students had a great showing at the recent Iowa College Media Association’s annual convention.

In addition, Simpson captured first place in the contest for best online edition of the campus newspaper.

“It’s rewarding for the students to be recognized for their hard work they put in each year,” said Mark Siebert, assistant professor of communication studies. “It shows them they produced some of the best work in collegiate media in the state last year.

“It’s even more impressive when you consider the broad range of categories they won in – from investigative reporting to use of social media to best online video.”
