And welcome back!
Simpson College stands ready, willing and very eager to say hello to our first-year and transfer students, and to welcome back our returning students.
We want this to be the most successful year in Simpson’s 154-year history, so there’s no reason to wait.
The school year unofficially begins on Saturday, Aug. 23, with Move-In Day, in which our first-year and transfer students will find helpful volunteers in the parking lots, waiting to help them get settled.
That day will also feature the Indianola Community Showcase, a welcome service for new students and guests, a chance to meet your fellow residence hall students and attend a Simpson football scrimmage.
The events continue all week long, including a Wesley Woods excursion on Aug. 24, a show featuring comedians on Aug. 25, the President’s Ice Cream Social on Aug. 26 and 27, Intramurals Wild Card Night on Aug. 29, and the New Student Talent Show on Sept. 1.
That’s just for starters. Some events are for first-year and transfer students only, and some involve the entire student body. It’s a great chance to get acquainted or reacquainted.
