Simpson a “Best Bang for the Buck”

According to a new list published by Washington Monthly, Simpson College is the 37th Best Bang for the Buck liberal arts school in the nation.

Simpson’s inclusion on this list reaffirms what many graduates and their parents already know: A Simpson education is an investment in their future and helps set our graduates on the path to success.

The Washington D.C. magazine released the list of colleges that do the best job of helping non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.

To be eligible for the list, each institution must have met four criteria: at least 20 percent of the school’s student body must be receiving Pell Grants, the institution’s graduation rate must be at least 50 percent, the school’s actual graduation rate must meet or exceed the rate that would be statistically predicted for that school given the number of lower-income students admitted and the school must have a student loan default rate of 10 percent or less.

The only other Iowa Private College named to this list was Grinnell College.

See the rankings here.

Simpson was also named in the top 10 of all Iowa Colleges and Universities in terms of return on investment.
