Simpson Alum Named to “Forty Under 40” List of Business Leaders

Congratulations to Joe Sorenson, ’12 who was named to the Des Moines Business Record’s “Forty Under 40” list of business leaders.

Simpson alumni hold leadership positions throughout the Des Moines metropolitan area and the state of Iowa and are regularly acknowledged on this prestigious list.

Sorenson is currently vice president of affiliate relations for the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines where he has worked since 2012. He leads the Foundation’s statewide philanthropy through the establishment and growth of charitable funds through Iowa.

While at Simpson College, Sorenson majored in economics and applied philosophy. He was also a very involved member of the Simpson community, including being a letter winner on the football team, being named an academic all-conference athlete, a member of students in free enterprise, a student ambassador and served as president of the student body.

Sorenson is married to fellow Simpson alumna Molly Swenson Sorenson ’12 and they have a daughter, Lola.
