The Simpson College Democrats is proud to announce that it will be hosting a forum for the six Democrats vying for their party’s nomination to be governor of Iowa.
The Iowa Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Forum will be held from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 in Pote Theatre in the Blank Performing Arts Center, 513 North D St. on the Simpson campus.
The special event is free and open to the public. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The six Iowa Democratic gubernatorial candidates who have been invited to participate include:
*Nate Boulton, member of the Iowa Senate.
*Cathy Glasson, union leader.
*Fred Hubbell, former chair, Planned Parenthood, and former Director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development.
*Dr. Andrea “Andy” McGuire, former chair of the Iowa Democratic Party.
*John Norris, former aide to several Iowa officeholders and co-owner of State Public Policy Group.
*Ross Wilburn, former mayor of Iowa City.
The format calls for groups of three candidates to receive the same question. They will have two minutes to respond. Moderating the event will be Simpson students Abby Schulte, a sophomore, and Will Seiler, a senior.
