Here’s your chance to see inspirational artist Michael Ryan at Farnham Galleries on the Simpson College campus. His artwork will be on display from Feb. 19th through March 22nd.
Come talk to Ryan about his art in person at a reception, to be held from 5-6 p.m. on March 22. The exhibit and reception are free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
Ryan currently teaches privately in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City areas, creates his artwork and exhibits his artistry frequently.
In his artist statement Ryan said, regarding his work, “I have tried over the course of my career to always produce the highest quality of work within the style I have adopted. That style always concerned with the ‘hand of the artist’ always being present.”
Ryan said his inspiration for his artwork comes from natural landscapes, such as the Mississippi River Valley or the Rocky Mountains. He likes to capture the “essence of these things arranged in a harmonious and poetic manner.”
Farnham Galleries is located on the third floor of Mary Berry Hall on the Simpson College campus. The Galleries are open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours are available upon request.
