The president’s office at Simpson College leads and guides every aspect of campus life, serving as an effective and enthusiastic champion of the college’s strengths, academic programs and mission. John W. Byrd, the 22^nd president of Simpson, has announced plans to retire in May 2013. The college’s board of trustees announced that Dr. Jay Simmons will be Byrd's successor.
