Neuroscience is an exciting, rapidly growing area of interdisciplinary study. It combines elements from many fields including philosophy, physics, chemistry, biology and psychology. All these and more are required to study the most complex system on the planet, the human brain. In the psychology department, students and faculty collaborate to study unanswered questions about the brain, human behavior, and cognition.
Current projects include studying how the brain assigns attention to visual events and learning more about how humans can so rapidly become proficient in the use of symbols to communicate their thoughts.
