Who We Are
The Simpson College Religious Life Community (RLC) is just that, a community. We are a completely student lead group that strives to meet the spiritual needs of every student on campus. RLC is a community where anyone can come to grow in the never-ending journey of faith and spirituality to discover what God is calling us to do in our lives. As this journey is not meant to be done alone, we invite all to join us in this loving and welcoming community.
Theme for the Year
I’m a strong believer in the idea that we grow the most when we’re uncomfortable. Since coming to Simpson, I have seen this hold true in my life and the lives of those around me. There’s a quote I love by John Shedd that says, ‘A ship in the harbor is safe – but that is not what ships are built for’. In the same way, we as individuals and as a community are not meant to remain stagnant. We must grow. This growth can come from moving to campus for the first time, building relationships with new people, or going deeper in an understanding of faith. Regardless of the situation, this growth often requires us to step outside of our comfort zones. This year, the Religious Life Community is dedicated to challenging ourselves and others to GO BEYOND!
