You've got questions. — We've got answers.
Going back to school can be a major life decision, so you owe it to yourself to do the research, ask questions and ultimately be confident in your final decision. To help ease that process, we've compiled a few Q&A's here to get you started.
Q. How am I going to be able to afford going back to school?
At Simpson College, we care about affordability. We have priced our tuition rate to be the most affordable online private college option in the state. As a student you can take advantage of personalized financial aid counseling, customized tuition installment plans, or if you have employer reimbursement, you can delay payment up to 45 days after your course ends!
Simpson is a military-friendly school. All service members and Veterans have a personalized VA Certifying Official and Service Coordinator that ensures educational benefits are fully awarded.
On top of that, it is always free to apply and there is never a deposit required.
Q. My schedule is so crazy. How can I possibly fit in classes on top of everything else?
We know you have busy periods that prevent you from studying, which is why we offer start terms every eight weeks. Simpson students choose how many courses to take each term and set their own pace. You can take a term off to accommodate life then return as soon as you’re ready.
One of the greatest benefits for adults studying at Simpson is that it’s designed to fit around other commitments. Studying online or in the evenings offers flexibility, giving you control of your own schedule. Study anytime – anywhere.
Additionally, you can graduate faster with Simpson’s four-credit courses. Most courses offered at Simpson are four credits, compared to two or three credits offered by our competitors. What does that mean for you? Fewer courses to complete and a quicker path to graduation.
Q. I like the convenience of online courses, but I also really like seeing classmates face-to-face. Do you have something for me?
Yes! Adult students all learn differently and appreciate different types of learning. We offer fully online degree programs as well as once-per-week evening courses at our West Des Moines campus for those students who prefer the face-to-face environment. Choose what works best for you!
Q. I know that going back to school will be a lot of work. Will I have the support I need?
Just because you’re learning online doesn’t mean you’re on your own. At Simpson College you will have a personalized Academic Advisor who will work with you to create a customized roadmap to graduation and connect you with academic resources. Your advisor is available one-on-one via email, video conferencing, and telephone appointments to answer questions and cheer you on every step of the way.
Plus, enjoy the benefits of our small class sizes where our instructors will personally get to know you and your goals. For added support, you may also engage with peers to discuss coursework and challenges through our online learning environment.
