The Simpson College Athletic Training group meets monthly to discuss current issues within the Athletic Training Education Program. The organization provides the opportunity for athletic training students to develop leadership skills and become professionally active with a variety of other Athletic Training groups. Officers are elected into their positions and steer the organizational meetings as well as policies and procedures. One student is awarded with the “Athletic Trainer of the Month” in which a photo is taken and placed in a frame outside the training room for public view. At the end of each year, the organization celebrates their hard work and long hours by having a cookout or big dinner. The group has consistently taken part in the campus-wide tradition of “Campus Day” offering community service to the surrounding area. The organization is also involved in collecting canned food for a local food bank and Toys for Tots.
