Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

What is the FAFSA form?

Colleges and career schools use the FAFSA form to determine how much financial aid you’re eligible to receive, which could include grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.

What you’ll need

  • Your federal tax return: You’ll use your 2022 Federal tax return to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA and your 2023 Federal tax return to complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA.
  • Simpson’s school code: Be sure to enter the school’s code 001887 so we can move forward with your official financial aid packet. If you do not plan to file the FAFSA, please indicate you will not be filing on your application for admission.

Apply ASAP

The 2025-2026 FAFSA will open for completion December 1st. You should complete the FAFSA application as soon as it is available.

FAFSA FAQs

The FAFSA should be completed once every academic year. By law the FAFSA will be available by December 1st, 2024.

The FAFSA is completely free to fill out and you should never pay anyone money to do it on your behalf. You can file the FAFSA free at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. If you are on a site that asks you to pay money, then you are at the wrong FAFSA site.

You’re in the right place. You can find scholarship information above!

Simpson will also offer all institutional scholarships for which you are eligible to receive at the time of preparing your financial aid notification.

If you have any additional information missing for financial aid, we will first send a letter to your permanent home address requesting the information. We will also send you e-mail reminders with any missing forms. You can also find missing forms on SC Connect under Self Service-Financial aid required documents.

If your FAFSA is selected for verification the Office of Financial Aid will be sending you the appropriate worksheet and further instructions to complete the process.

If you or your family’s financial situation has changed, please contact our office. Some examples of special circumstances where you might contact our office include loss or change of job, high medical expenses not covered by health insurance or loss of child support.
