Bryan Geelan ’07 came to Simpson College in July 2009 as the athletics communication director before transitioning to the role of marketing communication director in January 2019. A member of the office of marketing and strategic communication, Geelan helps tell the story of Simpson College through a variety of written and visual media.
Geelan graduated from Simpson with degrees in corporate communication and marketing. He was a letterwinner and academic all-conference performer for the Storm football team and served as sports editor for the student newspaper, The Simpsonian.
Geelan came to Simpson from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he spent one year as a sports information graduate assistant. While at Mercer, he served as the main contact for the men’s soccer and baseball teams while providing game-day support for volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball.
Before joining Mercer’s staff, Geelan was an athletics communication intern for the Atlantic Sun Conference, also in Macon, Georgia.
Originally from Ruthven, Iowa, Geelan resides in Indianola with his wife, Tricia ’10, and sons, Holt and Will.
