Administrative Assistant — Church Relations

Simpson College is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Administrative Assistant for the College’s Church Relations and Chapel Office, working approximately 25 hours per week through the end of the academic year; ending May 31, 2020, and may continue with summer hours.

This position is responsible for coordinating the clerical work of the department, overseeing the Coffee Shop operation, supervising student workers, and providing administrative assistance to the Chaplain, Youth Academy Director and student leaders.

Additional responsibilities for this position include:  

  • Coordinate weddings held at Smith Chapel
  • Maintain central Chapel calendar 
  • Review and monitor departmental budgets

Skills required for this position include all customary and usual skills associated with an administrative support position, with computer experience in the area of data entry and web page maintenance.  The successful candidate will exhibit excellent customer service skills, ability to work as a team member as well as independently, be detail-oriented and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.  Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred.  The position requires ServSafe food safety certification; certification can be completed after employment begins.  The College will pay the fees associated with the certification process.
