Simpson College, a private liberal arts institution located in Indianola, Iowa (12 miles south of Des Moines) invites applications for the position of Assistant Baseball Coach. This is a three-quarter time, 10-month position.
The qualified applicant must possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills. This position will serve as top assistant in the baseball program. Responsibilities will include assisting with the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes, the planning and implementation of practices, scouting, individual coaching sessions, equipment, office work, and other duties as assigned. The applicant will serve as a leader, role model, and mentor to student-athletes and will be upheld to the moral and ethical standards as set forth by the institution.
This position reports directly to the Head Baseball Coach and will be overseen by the Head Baseball Coach and the Director of Athletics. Prior collegiate playing experience is required. Prior coaching experience is preferred. A pitching background is preferred.
