Coordinator of Conferences and Special Events

Simpson College seeks an individual who is energetic, hard-working, highly motivated and committed to providing superior customer service to all clients as well as assisting with the management of the Conference Office staff.

Position Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Schedule events using scheduler software
  • Coordinate logistics and services for events, may include attending some evening and weekend events;         
  • Responsible for IT needs of department, including software, generating reports and campus-wide training.
  • Prepare agreements, invoices, correspondence, and maintain financial reports for the department
  • Train and assist in supervision of work-study students during the academic year.

Minimum Knowledge skills and abilities required:

Superior customer service skills, attention to detail to maintain and manage multiple priorities; possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft word and excel with a desire and ability to learn and use specialized computer software systems. Is a self-starter who is capable of working independently with minimal direct supervision; has the ability to demonstrate organizational and communication skills; and is able to assist internal and external clients with a wide range of tasks.
