The Simpson College office of Student Development invites applications for a part-time counselor to work 29 hours per week during the academic year. This part-time position will provide initial assessments; individual counseling; crisis intervention; off-campus referrals; and emergency intervention services to students. This individual will also be expected to develop and assist with outreach and preventative services to the campus. This is a 9-month, part-time position.
Qualifications: At minimum, Master's degree in social work or counseling required; experience in a college counseling center preferred, must have or be eligible for Iowa licensure within one year. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to the development and welfare of students and must have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other members of the campus community. The applicant must also possess a positive attitude and a collegial working style, with an ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team-oriented environment.
