Visiting Professor of Music - Interim Director of Choral Activities

This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of continuation.  Position begins in the Fall of 2019.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

Duties:

Teaching duties will include:  direction of two choral ensembles, teaching conducting, Elementary Music Education Methods, Choral Techniques.  Additional duties might include applied voice instruction or other areas based upon the candidate's strengths.

Minimum qualifications:

M.M. in Music required for appointment (must be awarded by August, 2019); D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music preferred; demonstrated experience leading choral ensembles;  qualifications to teach music education coursework.

Preferred qualifications:

D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Music; demonstrated experience leading choral ensembles at both the collegiate and elementary/secondary level; experience teaching music education; experience teaching conducting; knowledge of vocal pedagogy;  active participation in national and regional professional choral and music education organizations;  demonstrated ability to recruit vocal students.
