Baritone Jesse Stock is an adjunct professor of voice at Simpson College. Jesse received his Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Simpson College and his Master’s degree from The University of Tennessee. Before teaching at Simpson, Jesse was an adjunct professor of voice at Carson Newman University and Pellissippi Community College in Tennessee.
While being an active performer, Jesse’s credits include Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème with St. Petersburg Opera, Second Mate in Britten’s Billy Budd with Des Moines Metro Opera, Minskman in Dove’s Flight with Fayetteville Opera, Jake Wallace in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West with Knoxville Opera, Montano in Verdi’s Otello with Knoxville Opera, Capulet in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette with Knoxville Opera, Falstaff in Verdi’s Falstaff with Spotlight on Opera, Dougald McDougald in Floyd’s The Sojourner and Mollie Sinclair with Des Moines Metro Opera, and Samuel in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance with Knoxville Opera. He was also a member of the young artist programs with Des Moines Metro Opera, Knoxville Opera, and St. Petersberg Opera. Concert work credits include the soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana, Brahms’s Ein deutsches requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Bach’s Magnificat.
